As a Not For Profit organisation (NFP) you have a different tax status to other employers and therefore are entitled to an FBT (fringe benefits tax) exemption based on your registration status. This means that you have a capping threshold on income tax free benefits that are exempt from FBT. The current thresholds set by the ATO vary according to the registration status of the organisation, each threshold provides you with a different level of exemption which your employees will be able to benefit from each year.
